Hey there! I’m Dylan Andersen. I’m a passionate photographer based in Irvine, California, born and raised in the Bay Area. I live at the intersection of technical precision and human connection.

While I spend my days as a full-time AI Engineer in big tech, my true passion is found behind the lens. This dual perspective, one analytical and one emotive, is the foundation of my work. I believe the best photos don't just look good; they feel like the subject, capturing a clarity that only comes from understanding both the gear and the soul of the moment.

At the heart of everything is my daughter, Alba. You'll find her appearing in almost all of my personal work, and she is quite literally the reason I do what I do. Her curiosity and spirit inform everything around me, constantly reminding me to look for the wonder in the everyday.

My passion is going out and shooting. Full stop. Whether I'm capturing a corporate narrative or a landscape fine art piece, my goal is always the same: aesthetic precision mixed with genuine connection.

The "Softbox" Approach

You might notice a distinct style across my work. I call it the "Softbox Aesthetic." It's about diffusing the harshness of reality to reveal the beauty underneath. Just as a softbox modifies light to wrap gently around a subject, I aim to create an experience that puts you at ease, resulting in images that are natural, flattering, and radiant.

I’m currently shooting with Fujifilm X-Series and GFX systems alongside Panasonic Lumix for video. I’m incredibly passionate about the Fujifilm ecosystem and the "film look" it provides. If you want to chat about gear, film simulations, or lenses, I’m always game!
